JOYFUL HEARTS FARM

"Be diligent to know the state of your flocks and attend to your herds.........."
Proverbs 27:23-27

Nigerian Dwarf Bucks

Bucks are the foundation of any herd because they contribute 50% of the genetics of your entire herd. If you want to know the value of a herd all you need to do is look at their bucks.....All of our bucks come from top of the line genetics, having dam and grand-dam's that have excellent udders!

BUCK SERVICE

We no longer offer Stud Service to outside does gor Biosecurity purposes. On rare occassions we will offer stud service for our buyers who only have Joyful Hearts does and cannot own a buck. Otherwise, we encourage you to reserve a buckling from us. It's much easier to own your own buck when it comes time to breed your does anyway. It can be extremely difficult to catch your does in heat unless you have a buck (or wether) on site. And when it's no longer breeding season, they are just as sweet and affectionate as any doe. We love our bucks!

Any Open Does that are listed for sale on our Sales Page may be bred to one of our bucks for a daily boarding fee of $3.00, with a buck service fee of $100-$150 (depending on the buck). This would only be possible if we had an open breeding pen available. We reserve the right to refuse buck service without explanation and to issue Doe Only Service Memo's at our discretion on Bred does for sale. All monies must be paid in full prior to breeding.

Bucks are listed from oldest to youngest

Billy's dam and littermate sister have beautiful socked on udders, with awesome medial suspensory ligaments. Something the breed as a whole needs improvement on. He will be used primarily to improve MSL's. His littermate sister Poppy Patch Lil Miss Sunshine has an awesome udder, as does his dam, who is a finished Champion with ADGA.

Billy is co-owned with Gryphon Farm

Jamie is an extremely sweet, handsome, and very easy to handle buck. At 1.5 yrs old, Jamie was ADGA Linear Appraised with an Excellent score of 90 in 2009!! In 2010 he was AGS Classified at 2.3 years old and recieved another "Excellent" under Alice Hall with a score of 90!! This is a very correct buck, who is the whole package.

Jamie has received so many positive comments from various judges. Jamie has flat bone, widely-spaced ribs, a very tight front end, and good width throughout, and is well balanced. He has a very wide escutcheon, a very flat wide topline, excellent chest width and a beautiful head and nicely set ears. He has excellent feet and pasterns, having tight toes and straight on legs in front.

Jamie has the added bonus of being polled which he passes along to some of his offspring. We anticipate that Jamie will also pass on large and plumb teats, excellent rear udder attachment and increased milk production. He should produce show quality daughters with the potential for excellence in both udder attachments and milk capacity. as well as the potential to pass on excellent feet and legs.

Jamie's first kids have hit the ground, and all have very wide escutcheons, tight toes, excellent feet and legs, with great width between the hocks. Lots of room for udders! We can't wait to see some of his daughters freshen in 2011!

Jamie's dam, Fairlea Marguerite 4*D 2*M AR, is now a 3rd freshener that Bonnie says has the highest production in her barn this year and has a fabulous udder. Marguerite has one Grand Champion leg, and several reserves so far. We are looking forward to seeing updated photo's of Marguerite this year!

Dakota is a very correct, flashy, and stylish buck! He excells in dairy character with paper thin skin and flat bone. He has extremely correct legs and feet, high thurls, and is sharp and angular. Dakota also has excellent body capacity and general appearance. He has a super wide escutcheon, and very tight shoulders, excellent rear legs, tight toes and is very open and level.

His pedigree speaks for itself! And wow is this boy FLASHY!! His Dam, Mariposa has many show wins to her credit: 2 X Grand Jr., 3 X Grand Sr. and AGS 2007 National Youth Show Gr. Ch. Sr. Doe. Mariposa made the 2007 ADGA and AGS Performance leaders Top Ten, earning #6 milk, #5 butterfat, and #5 protein, and in 2008 Mariposa earned top ten milk production awards: 5th BF, #8 protein, and 10th in Milk production.

Soporro's littermate sister, Rosasharn SW Sake 4*D, 4*M, was first in her class both times she was shown. Sake is long bodied and very wide in the escutcheon. Sake has an incredible udder with the softest texture in the Rosasharn herd according to Anne, with great attachments, having long teats.

Dakota's full brother (not littermate) won GRCH buck 3 x's and won Best in Show 3 times! We hope to get Dakota in the show ring this year and hopefully, he will do as well as his brother, Lorquin's Admiral! Well, our helper backed out on us the morning of the show, so we were not able to show him this year. That's ok.....the proof of a good buck is in his daughters!

Anne writes about Dakota's sire, Saporro that he "is a wide and powerful buck that has great balance and strength." His Grandsire Tiger was 1x BOB, 3x GCH, and 4x RCH. His granddam Unagi, as a second freshener, was shown 9 times in champion challenge, all 9 she won best of breed and best udder, going undefeated that year. That gave her a total of 11x Best doe in show and 9x Best udder (including at the ANDDA Specialty show at the 2003 National Show). His ½ sister Painted Lady is an almost perfect doe with great attachment and general appearance.

We anticipate that Dakota Skipper should produce high, tight udders that blend smoothly into the body with heavy capacity and stylish, flashy, show quality offspring. He will be used extensively on our best does this Fall. He will certainly be an asset to our breeding program and we look forward to showing this boy off in the show ring in the future! Thanks Anne for another gorgeous buck.

We are retaining Kaipo for the awesome mammary & milking genetics he carries.

Kaipo's sire, Fairlea Jamie Fraser *S 'E' 90 can be seen above. Both Kai's dam and sire have Excellent (90 and above) Linear Appraisal scores and Classification scores. Kai was appraised in 2010 as Young Stock and received a "Very Good" score. He has tight shoulders, a very wide escutcheon, wide leg set, tight toes, excellent rear legs and a very nice head, good body capacity, is long bodied and has great general appearance. Having wattles only makes him more adorable. Look at that face!

Kaipo has the potential to produce offspring with excellent general appearance, daughters who have socked on udders, as well as large teats, with LOTS of milk. He has depth of pedigree with incredible milkers behind him top & bottom, as well as high linear appraising animals and numerous finished champions in his background, including his dam, MCH/CH Jobi Lacie *D 92, who is only one show win away from being a triple champion!!

Since Kaipo is so closely related to almost everyone in our herd and we can't use him this year, we have decided to offer him for sale to the right party. He is very bucky and ready and willing to be used this Fall for your breeding program!

Indy shows a lot of dairy character having paper thin dairy skin, open ribbing, being sharp and angular. Indy was pretty wild when we got him, but after only a short week, he is already overcoming his shyness, and is starting to come to us and loves his pets :-) He is super sweet, easy to handle, and has a very calm spirit.

Indy should throw gorgeous, butter soft, socked on udders, as well as pass on large, milkeable teats. We are also hoping he will add more refinement to some of our more "power type" does. His kids should also be stylish and flashy, with the potential for blue eyes. Since he is so young, we will only be using him on a few of our Jr Does this Fall.

His pedigree is top notch, with his Grand Dam, Minnie, being the 2009 AGS All Time Breed Leader for High Milk production by milking 7 #'s, as well as being an extremely dairy doe. In 2010 her high milk is 7.9#'s as a 2nd freshener! His beautiful dam, Gretel, at 6 yrs of age, was Linear Appraised EEEE FS 91, and has a butter soft udder, with large milkeable teats and amazing attachments. Indy comes from a long line of very high Appraising animals, Champions, and high producing milkers.
