Our Nigerian Dwarf does & bucks are normally priced from $400.00 to $750.00. Pet quality kids will be $250-$350.00. Kid prices are determined by pedigree, conformation, show records, milking stars as well as LA scores and DHI records, kidding history and AGS classification scores ~ which include that of the dam, sire, and other close relatives. Wethers are $100-$150.00 depending on color and conformation. We spend as much time as possible properly socializing all babies starting at birth so that our kids will have friendly dispositions. We offer a $25 refund to anyone who purchases a doe from us and goes on to earn a * which is payable with a notice of pending star. We also offer a $50.00 discount if your herd is on 305 DHI and a doe you have purchased directly from us earns her AR *. We also give a 10% discount for FFA/4-H kids.
If you would like to reserve a baby from our Kidding Schedule, please let us know and you will be notified as soon as babies become available. We require a $100.00 Non-Refundable deposit for buck kids or doe kids, and a $50 non-refundable deposit for wether reservations. Deposits are non-refundable if the buyer cancels the sale.
When considering to purchase an animal from us, please consider how you will get it home. Transporting the animal is up to the Buyer. We would be happy to help make arrangements, but ultimately it's up to you how it should be done.
Once a commitment is made to buy an animal, we ask for half the purchase price as a non-refundable deposit, payable within 5 business days. The kid(s) will be held until 4-6 weeks of age or for up to 30 days for adults while payments and shipping arrangements (if applicable) are worked out, with shipping costs, (ie. health certificate, testing), the responsibility of out of state buyers. The full purchase price must be paid, and purchased animal picked up from our farm within 30 days (unless other arrangements have been agreed upon by seller) or we will consider the sales contract cancelled and make the goat available to other buyers. If animal(s) are not picked up at the agreed upon date, a $3.00 per day boarding charge will be added to your final bill up for up to two weeks. If the animal is not paid for in full and claimed within two weeks, the animal(s) will be offered for sale to others, and you will forfeit your payments. No exceptions.
Due to issues surrounding maintaining the biosecurity status of our farm, we may not be able to accept an animal back. However, we do request that our customers please contact us first for the opportunity to repurchase any breeding stock that we have sold. In the event we cannot purchase an animal back, we will do our best to help you rehome the goat. Thank you for your understanding.
No animal will leave our possession until the full terms of the contract have been met. We reserve the right to refuse a sale for any reason, at any time, on any animal. This can be done up until the time the Bill of Sale/Transfer is signed. If we cancel a sale, deposits paid will be refunded. Joyful Hearts reserves the right to retain any reserved animal for any reason. If this is done, payments will be returned. If Buyer backs out of the sale, Deposits are not refundable.
Breeder reserves the right to retain any kids born. If we choose to retain a reserved animal your payment will be refunded to you, or can be applied towards a different animal, or future breeding~buyers choice. All animals are sold on "breeders terms" meaning we may ask for
stud service back, first right of refusal etc. on individual animals.
If a doe is bred on our farm before being sold her kids will carry the Joyful Hearts herd name. When a doe is sold as being *exposed to a buck* (hand bred) we offer no further guarantee as to the does successful gestation or successful kidding once doe leaves our farm. If pregnancy has already been confirmed by an ultrasound or blood test, that will be clearly stated in the Sales Agreement. Breeder reserves the right to issue a "Doe-Only" service memo at our discretion on any bred animal sold. We abide by the rules set forth by the American Dairy Goat Association, with a doe being sold as "A bred doe" as defined under Section XIX, Recommended Trade Practices For Members, Subsection E, as written in the ADGA Guidebook At the time of purchase, Buyer will sign a statement that no bucks from the breeding will be registered unless agreed upon after dam and buck kid(s) are assessed to be of the quality worthy of adding those genetics to the Nigerian Dwarf gene pool. The signed statement will be attached to an official ADGA Bill of Sale, copies of which will be provided to ADGA to ensure the following of proper procedure by all parties. Alternatively, bred does will be given AGS Doe Only Service Memo's. Upon those kids' birth, Buyer will notify Seller/Breeder. Contingent upon the offspring meeting the necessary criteria for registry with ADGA and/or AGS and the criteria Breeder/Seller deems necessary to act as breeding stock, Breeder/Seller will provide the appropriate paperwork to register said kid(s) at no additional expense to Buyer.
We are not responsible for any stress related illnesses during shipment or after. You trust us to provide/ship you with a healthy baby and we trust that you will care for him/her properly at your facility and seek immediate medical care if it should show any signs of shipping stress. We suggest you do your research and have everything prepared ahead of time for your new goat(s) to make the transition as smooth as possible.
All does and bucks 1 yr. of age and over have tested Neg. for CAE & CL (WADDL). Additionally, some of our adult stock have been tested for Johnes, Tb, and Brucellosis ~ all Negative. If you desire any additional testing, or need a health certificate for traveling purposes, the cost is the responsibility of the buyer. Animals under 6 months of age do not require any testing to cross state lines (except to Hawaii). To find out what your state requires visit USDA APHIS Veterinary Services web site.
All animals sold out of state will be accompanied by a CVI (Certificate of Veterinary Inspection) issued by our vet. Fees for a CVI at the time of this writing are $45.00. We will ship your kid(s) from Ontario Airport, California to anywhere in the USA. We prefer to ship animals under 6 months of age, with ground transport on older animals, but are willing to work with you. We charge a $25.00 transport fee to Ontario Airport. If we have to ship out of LAX, the fee is $50.00. It is the buyers responsibility to provide an airline approved shipping crate and have it shipped to us or we may be able to loan one out with a deposit. We will let you know what size you will need. Two babies can fly together in the same crate (just weaned or bottle babies) for the same shipping costs as long as the combined weight (kids and crate) are under 70 lbs. Save $$ and reserve two babies! We will try to help with local transportation when we can within a reasonable distance for a gas and meal donation.

Cash, Postal Money Orders or PayPal. We will let you know how to send payment via PayPal at time of reservation. You will be required to pay an additional 3% handling fee when paying via PayPal.
